Enzen Develops esGen for the Power Sector

Enzen Global Solutions, a leading company in the energy and utility sector, has developed an enterprise management tool specially designed for the Indian power generation firms.
The software — esGen — fully integrates and streamlines functions of Business, Operations and Back-Office. It automates the processes in Finance & Accounts, Human Resources and Payroll, Operations & Maintenance (CMMS), Project Management, Procurement Management, Inventory Management, Fuel Management, Fly Ash Management and Revenue Management.

Talking to CXOtoday, Madan Mohan, vice president-energy & utilities, power, Enzen Global Solutions, said, "The software was developed in-house by our team of software developers and took about a year to roll it out. Even though a number of software companies including SAP claim to offer complete solutions to this sector, we understand the need of this sector better since we expertise in this field."
The company has a software division with over 100 software engineers, and for esGen software a group of 50 engineers worked for almost a year. It is a generic product for the Indian utility sector and will make the software available in the market shortly, said Mohan.
The software is powered by Microsoft s Dynamics AX platform, built on open standards, and supports integration with several applications that will bring significant automation into power generation providing it a distinct competitive edge in the market, he said.
esGen can very easily be integrated with external applications like SCADA, GIS, DCS, and PLC, Weighbridge System, Condition Monitoring Systems etc in a real-time manner.
The software enables the generation company in forecasting fuel requirement, fuel procurement and track transportation of fuel and track transportation losses. esGen enables generation companies to account for revenue generated through sale of fly ash. Maintenance management module of esGen enables forecast, schedule and execute maintenance orders.
esGen also handles preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance thereby reducing the downtime of the assets and increasing its availability and reliability.
