Future Group Invests In Omni-Channel Strategy
Retail chain Future Group is planning to invest up to Rs 100 crore to strengthen its e-commerce venture over the next 18 months to widen its footprint across the country. The company, which is targeting a net 20 percent of revenue from online sales, believes that an omni channel strategy will give its consumer a single view of the retail business through different channels like mobile, online or physical stores.
Towards this end, the Group, which runs chains like Big Bazaar, Central, Planet Sports and Ezone, has partnered with enterprise leader SAP’s Hybris OmniCommerce solutions. Speaking on the partnership, Kishore Biyani, Group CEO of Future Group, said; “In the world over, physical retailers who have developed themselves into omni-channel merchants are driving to attract customers and business across both digital and physical platforms.”
Hybris has successfully developed omni-channel capabilities for leading brands across the world such as Toys ‘R’ Us UK, Metro, Levi’s, Galeries Lafayette, Migros, Nespresso and Lufthansa in its kitty.
“With its modern architecture and modular approach, hybris will transform the way we are able to leverage our omni-channel retail model across all our brands and businesses. With hybris, we see a whole lot of new possibilities in retailing opening up, including the endless aisle vision becoming a reality,” says Biyani.
The company also believes that its omni-channel strategy will allow customers to access a wider range of products both online and through stores, it said in a statement. It will also make shopping online and from brick-and-mortar stores a seamless experience. A growing number of traditional retailers are using this strategy to compete better with online rivals.

Biyani informed that March next year all its existing products and brands will be made available for sale online. The company has already got a database of its 3 crore customers who will be benefited from the new venture, along with its existing ones. The officials mentioned that the roll-out will begin by the month-end.
