McAfee, the leading security company, has announced the upcoming release of a fully integrated consumer security service platform, code-named ‘Falcon’.
The new security platform will deliver complete protection with McAfee’s latest products, which encompasses next- generation anti-virus, anti-spyware and breakthrough proactive threat watch technologies. The platform has been re-architected to provide a single access point that allows consumers to easily manage their McAfee security products.
With the release of Falcon, McAfee builds on its wireless home network protection and provides users an easy way to view the security status of other systems on their home network.
Falcon offers both a basic view for consumers who want a high-level overview of the security performance of their PCs, as well as an advanced view, which will allow more sophisticated users to view and fine-tune detailed security settings. The views are accessible via the McAfee Security Center, the industry’s first dashboard that McAfee introduced in 2001. It enables consumers to manage all aspects of their security services under one menu.
McAfee’s security as a service, delivered in 1991, requires virtually no user interaction. For example, automatic updates against new viruses, malware and potentially unwanted programs are delivered daily, or more often if needed. New levels of security protection are provided during the length of the subscription. All updates and new protection technologies download in the background. Subscriptions can be renewed automatically to ensure ongoing protection.

For the consumer, we not only continue to stop the bad guys in their tracks but we will even be able to sniff out and stop suspicious activity.”
The service will deliver enhanced proactive protection, as a result of sophisticated research with technological innovation to safeguard consumers against issues including identity theft, hybrid threats, and stealth technologies. The company will use SystemGuards to watch consumers’ computers for specific behaviors that may signal virus, spyware, or hacker activity. Also McAfee X-Ray for Windows will detect and kill rootkits and other malicious applications that hide from Windows and other anti-virus programs.
