In a move to replace their legacy systems with better integrated ones, Bangalore based VST Tillers and Tractors Limited (VTTL) has decided to streamline it s inventory and other business processes using Ramco’s ERP solution.

Speaking to CXOtoday.com, Mr. Thiyagarajan, GM-Finance, VTTL said, “Our goals were twofold, namely to upgrade the present systems and integrate the business processes. We are pleased to be associated with Ramco Systems as our ERP implementation partner and are confident that we will get the desired solution as per the timeframe and budgets committed which will enable us to control inventory efficiently & also manage sales cycle effectively.”

We have evaluated all standard ERPs in the market and found Ramco to be suitable to our requirements , adds Thiyagarajan. The company has purchased 100-user licenses of Discrete Manufacturing Suite of Ramco e.Applications (comprising of Discrete Production, Financials, Sales, Logistics, Maintenance, SPC/SQC, HR & Payroll modules, along with Indian Extensions and Tools & Utilities). The implementation will initially be rolled out at it’s Bangalore and Mysore branches before Jan 2006 and finally extended to Hosur and other branches in India by April next year.

VTTL had been using a customized Material Requirement Planning (MRP) application with a Oracle-Developer 2000 combo since 1998. With rapid growth in business, the need was felt to bring in other business processes (like inventory, purchase & sub-contracting and financials) in the purview of the IT systems. Besides, smooth operation from multiple locations required that a uniform system had to be put in place in place.

Chetan Pathak, head-sales & marketing, India operations, Ramco Systems said, “It is really heartening to see the growing customer base of Ramco e.Applications users in the manufacturing segment. With the globalization of the Indian manufacturing industry, Ramco e. Applications will give organisations like VTTL, the much-needed bandwidth and capacity to offer an array of world-class products and services.”
