Burgmann India Pvt Ltd., a key player in sealing technology for pumps, valves, agitators, compressors and other applications, has succeeded in increasing the overall efficiency with the implementation of a custom-made ERP.

Speaking to CXOtoday, Santosh Waghole-head of information technology, Burgmann India said, “Apart from being extremely user friendly the solution has brought about considerable efficiencies within all our key processes and functions. Though the key benefit still remains the marked improvement in the coordination across departments.”

Developed by Applitech Solution Ltd- an Ahmedabad-based IT solutions company, the ERP integrates all key business processes right from marketing and order processing, down to personnel, finance, central excise, etc.

Designed in a three-tier structure, the solution facilitates web-based interaction. One of its core features is the monitoring of orders at every stage — right from the inquiry level down to the final dispatching stage.

According to Waghole, the solution has been deployed at the head office in Mumbai, across 35 users, with the database being Microsoft Access. Sharing some of the future initiatives, Waghole stated that while nothing major is planned, purchase of firewalls, probably from Nokia is definitely on the agenda.

Burgmann is an Indo-German joint venture between A.K.Engineering of Balwa Group and Burgmann Dichtungswerke GmbH & Co.Kg., providing sealing solutions. The company’s operations are spread across 14 locations in the country.
