L&T Infotech streamlines testing services
In order to remain competitive, enterprises across verticals are looking for innovative ways to drive growth and profitability. Recently, Mumbai-based software testing services company L&T Infotech selected HP Software to introduced specialised testing services in order to help its customers improve IT performance with high quality, secure applications.
The HP IT Performance Suite software suite includes the HP Performance Center and the HP Quality Center. The former tests, analyses, and validates application performance against customer business requirements. The latter prioritises testing based on business risk. It manages and automates the delivery of secure, quality applications.
L&T provides software testing services through its independent testing practice - Testing Service Line (TSL) and offers a comprehensive range of testing capabilities to ISVs. According to Uday Gharpure, Head of Global Operations, L&T Infotech, “The new and integrated solutions suite from HP will enable L&T Infotech to introduce more efficient testing services across Europe, Africa and North America. It will also help improve L&T’s efficiency by up to 80 percent and time-to-market by an estimated 40 percent.”
According to Gharpure, software testing is no longer an afterthought for any enterprise. In the highly competitive business landscape, organisations need to accelerate their software development cycles and reduce their time-to-market to stay ahead of competition. An agile testing methodology can address these problems by minimising the effort required for testing systems. This is a key reason why testing companies need to invest in IT strategically and deploy the right tools from the right vendors.
Gharpure noted that industry segments such as BFSI, manufacturing, telecom, oil and gas and insurance are finding greater value in our testing and automation offerings that allow them to take a structured view to enterprise test automation and at the same time reap immense ROI.
He informed that L&T Infotech has made significant investments in its testing services through test labs, alliances, methodologies, solutions and tools to offer specialised testing services to its clients across the globe. The company is growing at 50 percent in the last 2-3 years and is expected to witness a much higher growth in the coming years. Gharpure believes this would be possible because the testing industry is going through an exciting time will undergo a major transformation in the future. Newer trends are showing up in the software testing industry such as Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), Software as a Service (SaaS), web based and mobile applications and so on.
“As a result of emerging trends in testing, enterprises around the globe are looking for independent service providers with deep domain experience across multiple application environments to achieve quality and to reduce the response time to market needs. At the same time the testing market is highly competitive with more and more enterprises looking for quality and reliable service providers,” he said.
According to Amit Chatterjee, Director, HP Software and Solutions, HP India, “As more companies turn to IT to remain competitive, the quality and security of software applications becomes more critical in supporting today’s business demands.”
He said the powerful combination of HP Performance Center and HP Quality Centre provides a comprehensive application testing and quality management solution. This enables L&T Infotech to help their enterprise customers improve IT performance with secure and reliable business applications and deliver defect-free applications to our clients and ahead of competition.
