Manugistics' Offers Synchronized SCM Solutions

Manugistics Inc., a global provider of synchronized supply chain and revenue management solutions, will shortly be setting up its presence in India, which will be responsible for full life-cycle product development of supply chain management, logistics and revenue management solutions.

Speaking exclusively to CXOtoday, Rob Thomas- group vice president- product development, Manugistics’ Inc., said, “The supply chain and revenue management solutions from Manugistics’, enables clients to achieve improved forecast and inventory accuracy. The solutions also help enable customers to leverage industry leading pricing, and yield management solutions to maximize profits while ensuring constant supply of constantly changing demands.”

Speaking about the company’s plans in India Thomas said, “Manugistics’ is first focused on launching a solution development center in India. Once that is launched and 250 to 300 employees are on board, the company will look at offering synchronized supply chain and revenue management solutions to the market place in India.”

The company delivers solutions that have been developed over more than 20 years in the market place. Says Thomas, “We work with retailers, consumer goods manufacturers and suppliers as well as transportation providers bringing together the entire spectrum of the supply chain network.”

In terms of the challenges, Thomas said that a global market place necessitates that the right product, arrives at the right time with the right price for the right customer.

Speaking about the trends in the supply chain, he said that more and more companies are outsourcing and offshoring goods from all round the globe. “The supply chain is not local or national, it is international,” stated Thomas.

In conjunction with Manugistics’ Development Center in its Rockville, Maryland headquarters, Manugistics India will be the hub for the development of strategic software solutions.

Manugistics’ impressive clientele includes companies such as AT&T, BMW, Boeing, Caesar’s Entertainment, Canadian Tire, Coca Cola Bottling, Coty International, Delta Airlines, DHL, Diageo, Dixons, Dupont, Eurostar Railway, Georgia Pacific, Nestle and Kraft Foods among others.
