Negi Systems Opts For Orion Over Ramco's Solution

Negi Sign Systems & Supplies Co., a distribution company that trades in equipments for signs, graphics, printing and engraving industry is one such company that has chosen 3i Infotech’s (formerly ICICI Infotech Ltd) Orion Advantage- a pre-configured ERP offering that is specially designed for SMEs to save costs, time and resources.
Speaking to CXOtoday, Girivir Negi, proprietor of Negi Sign Systems, said, “Being a trading company the key problem area was efficient inventory management. To addres the issue we evaluated offering from two companies - Ramco and 3i Infotech. We preferred to opt for Orion because the solution from Ramco was comparatively the older version. And moreover the solution from 3i Infotech was Web based.”
The company has opted for the Orion Advantage IT Distribution that enables SMEs to streamline purchase planning with integrated supply chain, apart from offering shortened order-to-cash time-cycle.
The offering also improves availability of products at specific prices by resellers, depending on pre-agreements, volumes, or on user-definable basis. It also enhances location-wise tracking of payment terms, costs and inventory levels.
Among its other features, the software eliminates stock-out situations with optimum inventory-carrying levels and tracks returns, material authorizations and warranty efficiently. Additionally it also ensures tight control on credit and debt management.
“We are in a phase where we are expanding our product range, adding new products. And at this juncture the primary task is ensuring high and satisfactory levels of customer service. And this prompted us to purchase the sales force automation offering,” informed Negi.
While Orion Advantage has been purchased for 15 users, the company has also opted for 15-user license for the sales force automation offering. In terms of the cost, Negi revealed that the company forked out Rs 20 lakh for the software.
Orion Advantage comes with pre-installed Oracle database, an HP dual processor Xeon server usage package and a Windows 2003 server.
According to Negi the implementation will shortly begin in early April and is expected to be completed by 120 days.
