Quest looks to deepen its relationships with MSPs and IT solution providers by becoming a strategic technology partner.
Quest Software, a company that offers a range of virtualization and management software solutions, acquired Colorado-based BlueFolder, a provider of field and professional service management solutions.
With this acquisition, Quest said that it will now offer end-to-end managed service provider (MSP) business management solution that will provide remote monitoring and management (RMM) functionality paired with professional services automation (PSA) system.
The company said that this acquisition will bolster its PacketTrap MSP software line, which helps managed service providers remotely manage their clients. Quest had acquired PacketTrap MSP, which offers on-premises RMM software to MSPs, in 2009.
“By integrating PacketTrap MSP with BlueFolder’s solution, we will deliver managed service providers a seamless and complete platform that they can leverage to enhance their service level offerings while improving customer satisfaction,” said Mike Byrne, Director of MSP Network Management Division, Quest Software.
He added that this combination of technology will help MSPs to improve efficiency and profitability to grow their businesses. “We now have an opportunity to deepen our relationships with MSPs and IT solution providers by becoming a strategic technology partner.”
Quest said that it will reveal its new product offerings in the first quarter of 2012 with an updated version of PacketTrap MSP, making stand-alone RMM or PSA products as well as the integrated business management solution available to MSPs.
“For years we have invested in the BlueFolder service management software and delivery model to meet MSP needs for business management tools,” said Marc Fey, President and CEO, BlueFolder.
