Riverbed Appoints New VP For India And SAARC
Riverbed Technology announced the appointment of Nagendra Venkaswamy as Vice President of Riverbed India and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). Based in Bangalore, Venkaswamy, better known as Venky by his friends and acquaintances, will be responsible for driving the company’s growth and expansion strategy across the region.
“Venky is coming on board at an exciting time of growth for Riverbed’s business in India and SAARC. As more and more Indian organizations embark on Digital Transformation projects, go hybrid and move to software-defined networks and datacentres, they’re looking for new approaches to solve the challenges of network and application complexity,” said Bjorn Engelhardt, Senior Vice President, Riverbed Asia Pacific and Japan. “Venky’s proven leadership and experience in building profitable, high-growth businesses, along with his deep understanding of the local market dynamics, will be an incredible asset. I’m pleased to welcome him to the team.”
Venky brings to the role more than 30 years’ experience across IT, operations, organization-building, and growth strategies with extensive knowledge of various industry domains. Prior to joining Riverbed, he served as a mentor to startups in India. Previously, he held several senior executive positions in the region, including Managing Director, India and South Asia, Arista Networks, where he was responsible for building operations of the company in the areas of Cloud and Datacenter operations. He also served as President of Tejas Network and Managing Director at Juniper Networks, where he played a key role in helping to build the brand from a start up to one of the leading networking players in India.
