SAP AG today announced the availability of SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA, a new option for SAP Business Suite customers. SAP is now a provider of an integrated family of business applications that captures and analyzes transactional data in real time on a single in-memory platform.

The tool empowers customers to run their business in real time within the window of opportunity to transact, analyze and predict almost instantly. This gives companies the ability to translate real-time insights to action immediately while removing the complexity of redundant data and systems.

“In 2010, our founder and chairman of the SAP Supervisory Board, Hasso Plattner, laid out a bold vision that SAP HANA will be at the heart of SAP’s intellectual renewal and that it would transform both existing and new applications. We have delivered consistently on this vision over the last two years, and today marks a major milestone in that commitment as we now enable SAP Business Suite to benefit from the power of SAP HANA,” said Vishal Sikka, member of the SAP Executive Board, Technology and Innovation.

“Now the software at the heart of thousands of the world’s best-run companies can work and think as fast as our imagination. We can now eliminate the traditional trade-offs between cost and performance and reinvent real-time business while dramatically simplifying our customers’ landscapes, together with a strong open ecosystem of partners. And SAP Business Suite continues to fully support and optimize for all major databases in the industry, further demonstrating our commitment to openness and innovation without disruption,” added Sikka.

“We are extremely enthusiastic about SAP ERP now being powered by SAP HANA as this move will be a game-changer for John Deere,” said Derek Dyer, director, Global SAP Services, Deere and Company. “After a successful initial experience, we quickly made the decision to adopt SAP HANA as a platform of choice for many of our existing and future applications. We consider this major innovation from SAP as a new way to manage our business by revolutionizing the way we introduce new products and services to the market, drive critical processes for us such as materials requirement planning in real time and even explore a new world where predictive maintenance now becomes possible.”
