SAP software to be available in Hindi

sap softwareSAP (NYSE: SAP) today announced its plans to develop and localize its software applications in Hindi. Continuing its investments on localization for the Indian market, the company plans to develop the Hindi version of its Human Capital Management (HCM), Employee Self-Service (ESS), ERP Financials and Logistics solutions.

“With a majority of Hindi speaking population, there is a need for organizations to implement technologies in their local language to deliver timely services to attract and serve citizens better”, remarked Yueting Zhou, Sr. VP, SAP globalization services, “Localized by SAP Labs India, we are very excited that Indian customers and partners can now leverage SAP in Hindi to make solutions available across segments and remote cities to drive the next wave of IT in India,” he added.

In addition, the company will also develop the Hindi version of its Citizen Services Applications. The Citizen Services Applications, which will be available sometime in 2012, will be of great utility for government organizations like municipal corporations whose main charter is to offer Citizen Services, informed the company.

“SAP applications in Hindi will significantly increase our customers’ ability to increase efficiencies and reach out a much wider set of stakeholders. The Hindi release of our applications will provide SAP a competitive edge and help in expanding our footprint in the government as well as for-profit organizations,” commented Alok Goyal, COO, SAP India.
