Europcar’s IT subsidiary selects TCS to manage strategic IT services development for its French operations.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) signed a multi-year, multi-million euro contract with Europcar, a provider of car rental in Europe.
After a rigorous evaluation process, Europcar Information Services (EIS), the company’s IT subsidiary, selected TCS to manage strategic IT Services development for its French operations.
“The objective of the partnership is to continue to improve our structured and standardized development process across Europcar. We were looking for a partner with the highest standard in quality and demonstrated flexibility and one that could help us optimize both time-to-market and cost control,” said Pascal Vallerent, Skill Center Director, Europcar Information Services.
He said that TCS scored high on all counts and its strong global delivery model and industry knowledge was key criteria for selecting them for this project. “TCS’ localization strategy with mixed teams at all levels also proved to be a key factor in the selection process,” he said.
During the third quarter results announced last month, the management at TCS stated that the Europe will do well for the company in terms of winning new deals. Despite the economic uncertainty, the continent led growth during the third quarter for TCS with revenues growing 18.1 percent sequentially.
This announcement marks further expansion into Europe for TCS’ Travel, Transport and Hospitality team. Comprising 4000 plus consultants, the team works with more than 50 customers worldwide including some of the global top 10 industry leaders in airlines, hospitality, car rentals, shipping and logistics.
Kumar Narayanan, Director and Country Head, TCS France, said, “This partnership with Europcar is part of the development of a strategic relationship with industry leading companies in France. It reiterates our strategic commitment to the region and our ability to create operating models specific to the unique needs of our French clients.”
TCS has operated in France since 1992, and provides services to over 20 French companies, a majority of which are part of the CAC 40 Index. The team comprises over 1000 professionals based both in France and at the company’s delivery centers worldwide.
