Tech Mahindra awarded IT Enterprise Special Award

TechMahindraMaharashtraTech Mahindra (NSE: TECHM), an Indian software exporter and global systems integrator and technology solutions provider to the telecommunications industry, was recently awarded the ‘IT Enterprise Special Award 2009-10′ from the Government of Maharashtra. These annual awards aim to felicitate and acknowledge organizations in Maharashtra for their contribution to the state’s IT industry.

Uday Vartak, Senior Vice President, Operations, Tech Mahindra received the award at from Ashok Chavan, Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Information Technology Awards have been instituted by the state to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The award ceremony is held every year on Information Technology Day, August 20. It is a state government initiative to recognize and promote entrepreneurship, rapid proliferation of IT in the society and encourage employment generation in the IT industry.

Glodyne, HOV Services and KPIT Cummins are some of the other IT companies that were recognized by the state government across different categories.
