UBI Goes For Finacle CBS

United Bank of India (UBI), Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Infosys have announced their collaboration to deploy IT infrastructure and applications for a period of 69 months.

HP will implement and manage Infosys’ Finacle core banking solution across its 600 branches, in the first phase and 900 branches later on. Implementation of Finacle using HP OpenBank Reference Architecture on HP’s computing technology will help UBI customers in India to access its products and services on a 24×7 basis through multiple delivery channels. HP will also implement CRM, HRMS and Credit Appraisal solutions. The solution will entail an investment of 200 crores to the bank, according to M.S.Kochar, Chief Officer, UBI Computerisation Department.

As part of the contract, HP will provide adaptive IT infrastructure and data center services that will help reduce risk; improve security; and lower management and operational costs for the bank. HP Services will implement the entire application stack and deliver SLA based Managed Services for the contract period.
