Technology solutions provider, Source Code International has launched ‘Balance’ - a trading-inventory-accounting software, which caters especially to the SMB sector.

Speaking to CXOtoday, Niraj Jaipuria, CEO of Source Code International, said, “It is a comprehensive and integrated trading, inventory and accounting software that provides recording of trading transactions (purchases/sales) as well as accounting transactions (vouchers). It comes bundled with in-built VAT-intelligence, which incorporates all intricacies of the VAT rules to auto-calculate VAT debits / credits.”

Divulging about how the software differs from the others, Jaipuria said, “It provides data entry screens that are similar to the manual billing system employed by users. It also allows users to enter only their purchase and sales transactions, without bothereing about accounting or VAT.”

The software automates trading-related accounting entries, provides inventory management reporting, including complete accounting.

It is currently available in English and Kannada. However, according to Jaipuria, the Hindi version will be available for releases planned in western and northern regions in the first quarter.

According to Jaipuria, the solution currently works on all Windows platforms right from Win-98SE / ME / Win-NT / Win-2000 / Win-XP. It is not currently supported on Unix/Linux.

The minimum hardware requirements needed are Win-98SE or later, with 64MB RAM (128Mb recommended), and 200Mb secondary space, with CD-Rom drive and Network Card.

In terms of pricing, Jaipuria stated that a single user comes at Rs 5000, while a multi-user will carry a price tag of Rs 10,000.
