ITC’s Lifestyle Retailing Business Division (LBRD), has successfully implemented and customized Movex and PREDATOR, two retail management solutions, and is all set to go live with its ’Fashion ERP’ next month, across its Wills Lifestyle chain of specialty stores in India.

Sharing the company’s initiatives with CXOtoday, Jitender Bhandari, unit head, western region, LBRD, said, “We have implemented Movex Fashion and PREDATOR from Intentia South Asia in order to manage our entire supply chain.”

Detailing further, he said, “Movex Fashion is a retail ERP solution based on industry specific functionalities such as the four dimensional matrix of style, colour, size and quality. The solution also enables automatic generation of SKUs, forecasting and rough cut planning, custom product configurator, made to order, made to stock planning, etc.”

Meanwhile, PREDATOR (PRoactivE Demand AcceleraTOR) suite is a retail management solution that helps retailers integrate all areas of the retail business operations, structured in three layers, transaction, planning and proactive layer.

Going down memory lane, Bhandari recalled, “We had begun implementation almost a year back. But the process of customization proved to be a daunting task as it entailed generation of each and every department level query, right from sales, purchase, warehouse to finance, distribution and even HR.”

Reminiscing further he said, “The solution, customized to meet our requirements, is expected to run in parallel with Retail Pro — a point-of-sale and inventory management software currently deployed. The software runs on a Windows based system offering touch screen POS, user-defined layouts, navigation and documents, multi-store management and integrated e-commerce.”

“In the next month the solution is expected to run live across all our 50 lifestyle stores scattered across the country. However, we will not adopt the big bang approach, it will be conducted in a phased manner,” clarified Bhandari.

According to Bhandari, the solution caters to all specific processes prevailing in the retail industry with special focus on areas such as pull/push replenishment apart from lending support to vital shipping operations, from route scheduling to truckload management and advanced transportation planning.

Speaking about the benefits, Bhandari explained, “The primary challenge faced by any typical retailer is to achieve balance between supply and demand for optimization of profits through harmonization of the flow of merchandise throughout the extended supply chain. Deployment of Predator and Movex has enabled us to bring about this much-needed flexibility within our supply chain.”

ITC’s LBRD has established a nationwide retailing presence through its Wills Lifestyle chain of specialty stores, numbering 50 across 38 cities in the country.

Rated as among the world’s leading companies by Forbes magazine, ITC-India’s eighth private sector company has diversified interests right from cigarettes, hotels, paperboards and specialty papers, to packaging, agri-business, branded apparel, packaged foods and confectionery in addition to greeting cards and other FMCG products.
