Wipro has partnered with telecom service provider Tele2 for developing Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. The new solutions will help enterprise customers reduce cost and open up new revenue streams and will cater to the European market. “The agreement will help customers implement solutions that will reduce time-to-market as well as the cost of development and operations,” Wipro said in a statement.

Wipro is investing heavily to drive the M2M business in the coming years. Earlier this year, Wipro invested in Axeda Corporation, a provider of cloud-based service and software for managing connected products and delivering M2M applications to help organizations connect with any asset, leverage real-time machine data to enhance business processes, and develop new innovative enterprise applications.

The recent partnership is a step ahead in this direction. Alan Atkins, VP and Global head of M2M at Wipro, stated that Wipro’s partnership with Tele2 is driven by the growing demand and interest for M2M solutions across verticals from customers throughout Europe. “Our relationship with Tele2 will enable both companies to provide customers with a compelling, end-to-end M2M service and business solution,” he said.

According to Rami Avidan, head of Tele2 M2M Global Solutions, by partnering with Wipro, we can now jointly offer an end-to-end solution that will help our customers realize business opportunities in a simple, flexible and secure way.
