Wipro’s Tarang lab and CSA to provide testing services In India
Wipro Technologies, the information technology, consulting and outsourcing business of Wipro(NYSE: WIT), announced that its Tarang - Product Qualification and Compliance Lab and CSA Group, a testing, certification and standards development organization headquartered in Canada, will collaborate and leverage their business resources for providing localized testing and certification services in India. This agreement is expected to enable Wipro to provide compliance testing and certification services to companies developing products in India for international markets in diverse fields, such as information technology, medical, test and measurement, laboratory, industrial control equipment, etc.
“This agreement with Wipro will serve to further enhance CSA Group’s business in Asia by establishing a presence in one of the most high-tech testing laboratories available not only in India but internationally,” remarked Ash Sahi, President and CEO, CSA Group. “By providing clients with services right in the heart of one of the world’s fastest growing manufacturing bases, we will be able to help reduce their overall costs and increase their time to market,” he added.
According to the company, in a typical product development cycle where the testing and certification is around 6-12 weeks, this Wipro-CSA collaboration will help product companies speed up the product testing and certification by 20-30 percent.
“This close association with CSA Group makes Wipro’s Tarang Lab a testing powerhouse providing product compliance testing and certification,” commented Vasudevan Aghoramoorthy, VP, Semiconductor and System Solutions, Wipro Technologies. “This collaboration will attract global customers, especially in the APAC region, to Tarang lab. While product tests happen in Tarang, customers have the choice of availing other services offered by Tarang Lab like EMI/EMC testing, environmental testing, reliability testing and product verification and validation under a single roof and bring down their design cycle time further.”
Wipro stated that its Tarang lab has been an NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) accredited facility for two years now, equipped to perform various safety, mechanical, thermal, acoustic, reliability and electro-magnetic interference/ compatibility related testing and consultancy services.
