Identity and access management (IAM) forms the core of cybersecurity policies and platforms of businesses. Securing credentials and verifying users can help prevent a massive amount of data breaches. These solutions form the modern enterprise’s digital perimeter, keeping digital assets secure and at the same time limiting external and internal threat incidents.

Saviynt, a US-based provider of intelligent identity access management (IAM) and governance has been securing the digital enterprise for nearly a decade. In his recent visit to India, Amit Saha, CEO, Saviynt, discusses the company’s plans for the India market and how emerging technologies such as cloud and robotic process automation (RPA) are changing the identity access and governance landscape.

Identity governance, cloud and RPA

The company started in 2010, at a time when enterprises were moving to a cloud-ready infrastructure in order to be agile and efficient. According to Saha, Saviynt started with the idea to help organizations make a smooth and secure journey to the cloud, without having to compromise on issues such as compliance and governance.

In order to do so, Saviynt started to secure enterprise applications, data and infrastructure on a single platform for Cloud (Office 365, AWS, Azure, Salesforce, and Workday) and Enterprise (SAP, Oracle EBS). It also pioneered IGA 2.0 by integrating advanced risk analytics and intelligence with privileged access management solutions.

“We start with our own security to give our customers confidence over their ability to secure their own user and data access and governance,” he asserts.

“With hybrid IT becoming the norm and more critical assets and workloads moving to cloud, privileged access compromise in cloud applications is emerging as one of the biggest threats,” informs Saha. He adds that Saviynt’s Cloud privilege access management or PAM solution is designed to deal with the challenges of traditional on-premise solutions.

Saha also sees a significant impact of RPA adoption on Identity Governance over the next couple of years. He believes that with increased proliferation of bots and the manner in which they simulate activities carried out by a human, it is imperative to have an Identity Governance processes defined for bots.

The company believes that active implementation of RPA would be a perfect way to potentially automate most of this problem, thereby allowing more time for CIOs to focus on business priorities and next generation initiatives.

India business plan and roadmap

Saviynt is seeing a huge growth potential in the India market. Saha believes that the time is right to make a dent in the India market. That’s because the IT scenario has matured and companies are looking to automate their processes by increasingly adopting digital technologies.

“We are just starting to build up our India- centric sales process. So, we are actively seeking partners or partnerships that can help us cater to this market,” says Saha.

He also informs that the company is working with a lot of Indian and global system integrators who have a significant presence in India.

“We will continue to work with our partners like Deloitte, Accenture, KPMG and as well as Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, TCS. We are also looking to bring greater innovation in the areas of cloud, hybrid and on-premise IT infrastructures to accelerate enterprise digital transformation,” sums up Saha.
