Innovations That Are Setting Dynamics For Hiring The Right Talent And Screening Unethical Employees

Hiring the right talent has always been a challenging task for companies. It is not only time-consuming but also expensive, and the stakes are high when it comes to finding the perfect fit for the job. But with the advent of new technologies, the hiring process is undergoing a transformation, with innovative tools and techniques that are changing the way companies approach talent acquisition. Here are few of the latest innovations in employing that are setting dynamics for hiring the right talent and screening unethical employees.

The Current Process of Hiring

Either a job posts or a database search in multiple Job Portals acts as the first step in the hiring process. Post which a suitable candidate is chosen and screened by the recruiter. Upon clearing the initial screening, the candidate is then moved to the next phase which may be a test, or a technical round of interviews based on the organization. On clearing this round, the candidate is moved to other rounds of interviews within the organisation hierarchy. As a final step salaries are negotiated and the offer is roles out. The candidate usually offers shops and may finally choose one or more offers. The process does not end here. Depending on their notice period the organisation will have to wait for the candidate to join on the designated date and time. During this period the candidate could still continue to offer shop and proceed to take up other offers which they may or may not keep informed the companies where they have chosen to already accept offers.

There is a 54% chance as per the industry statistics that this person may not join at all, and at which point the whole process starts all over again.

The New Process:

The organizations can post a job in their HRMS System which in turn is passed to HRapi.in (Open Jobs API) which can then be picked up by the job portals as per the relevance. The applications to these jobs are then processed through NLP and the resumes of the candidates are passed back to the HRMS via HRapi.in along with a Job Description-resume match score reducing the time required to screen profiles. Candidates’ backgrounds can be checked even at this stage to weed out misfits based on their TRST Score. Thus, saving costs even before screening the candidates.

Artificial intelligence is transforming the way companies screen and evaluate job applicants. There are online testing tools which screen candidates in the initial stages for technical knowledge and embedded AI-based video analytics tools which ensure that tests are proctored to dissuade cheating. Gamification is another innovative technology that is changing the hiring landscape. Gamification involves creating interactive simulations and games that allow candidates to demonstrate their abilities in a fun and engaging way. These games can be used to assess a candidate’s skills, personality traits, and cognitive abilities, providing employers with a more accurate picture of their potential performance. For example, a game-based simulation can be used to evaluate a candidate’s problem-solving skills or customer service abilities, which are critical for certain job roles.

Psychometric tests also screen for candidates’ fitment to the position. AI-based video analytics tools are now being used to access candidates as they participate in online interviews. Real-time feedback on the probable emotional state of the candidate also becomes available to the interviewer on the screen. Companies will continue to reimagine various aspects of the HR function as AI tools become common just as in all other industries.

Digital onboarding is a process that uses technology to automate and streamline the hiring process, from application to orientation. This includes using platforms to check if the candidate has accepted multiple offers, checking the identity of candidates using the PAN or AADHAR, video interviews, e-signatures, and online training to make the process faster and more efficient, as well as reduce the risk of unethical behaviour during the onboarding process. By digitizing the onboarding process, employers can provide a more engaging and interactive experience for new hires, which can help them feel more connected to the company and its culture. There are tools which also aid in continuous engagement during the notice period and also risk mitigate it via TRST Score platform to stay informed should the candidate choose to accept another offer.

Background checks are slowly becoming a thing of the past as companies look for more robust and continuous Human Risk Mitigation solutions. The shift in the employee landscape from full-time employment to gig economy-based models is leading to a higher need to monitor employees as they move between organizations and maintain a strong record of employment credibility. Companies and Institutions need to come together to create a 360-Degree View of the individual. The process of hiring gig workers remains the same as you would a permanent staff.

Predictive analytics is a tool that uses data mining, machine learning, and other statistical techniques to analyze large datasets and make predictions about future outcomes. In hiring, predictive analytics can be used to identify high-potential candidates based on their past performance, skills, and other factors. By analyzing data from various sources, such as job application forms, online assessments, and social media profiles, predictive analytics can help employers make more informed hiring decisions. For example, predictive analytics can be used to identify candidates who are more likely to stay with the company for a longer duration, reducing turnover rates and hiring costs.

In conclusion, the hiring process is undergoing a transformation, with innovative tools and techniques that are changing the way companies approach talent acquisition. From AI-based screening tools to behavioral assessments, companies are leveraging technology and data-driven approaches to make more informed hiring decisions and build a more productive and ethical workforce. By embracing these innovations, employers can improve the quality of their hires, reduce turnover rates, and increase the overall success of their business.
