Here’s how ekincare is leveraging technology to simplify health and wellness for India Inc

1) How is ekincare simplifying unstructured medical data on its platform? What is the technology behind the process?

Medical data is not generated and maintained in one standard universal format. A critical step towards making sense of the data is to have all the information structured in a usable state. ekincare has a patented healthcare records standardization and personalisation tool that leverages AI, ML, deep learning, and analytics. Scanned PDF reports are processed through the Optical Character Recognition tool, which converts the PDF into usable text. From this text, ekincare’s proprietary model extracts relevant details, including names, results and ranges. The model has been developed using state-of-the-art Deep Neural architectures consisting of Convolutional Neural Networks and Long Short-term Memory layers. ekincare’s deep learning models have been trained with over 2 lakh lab reports.

Deep learning has shown much promise in solving formerly intractable problems (i.e., image recognition, entity detection, etc.). Deep learning uses neural networks that mimic the brain to learn and improve the experience.

ekincare’s patented algorithm helps convert reports from multiple labs into structured data, which in turn helps generate health analytics for individuals and population analytics for other customers.

 

2) What are the current issues faced by the companies in managing their HRMS Systems, and what are the initiatives ekincare has brought in?

Understanding the issues encountered by businesses and the HR community in India, ekincare developed this revolutionary solution that allows organisations to connect their Slack or MS Teams with (a system/portal/database). This data can automatically manage the employees’ data (any new launch and addition and removal of employees can occur through this one-step process.)

This innovative solution also affords employers/HR the additional tool to send a personalized welcome message to employees upon account activation, resulting in increased activation and usage. This platform will initially be able to send welcome messages, but in the future, through Artificial Intelligence, it will be able to answer standard questions regarding employees’ accounts. This also becomes an additional channel to engage with the employees.

 

3) How does your technology innovation benefit or impede productivity and affect the business in terms of cost?

ekincare has built an AI-driven integrated and patented health benefits platform that provides real-time insights on health parameters for both employers and employees. This approach empowers the system to deliver personalized health recommendations to improve their health quotient continuously. At the same time, this helps save healthcare costs and lowers employees’ health insurance premiums.

 

4) How is this API integration different from the regular spreadsheet and excel generated from the HRMS systems?

HRMS Sytems are not typically designed to manage health benefits but link to other systems. Health benefits systems need to collaborate with players from the healthcare ecosystem. Managing an OPD benefit partner network is challenging. ekincare offers a complete and immersive experience for employers to provide health benefits (Health checkups, mental health assistance, doctor consultations) to their employees.

 

5) How will this improve the user experience for the key stakeholders? How does this solution enable easy compliance for improving employees’ healthcare and wellness?

From an employer perspective, ekincare significantly reduces the complexity and compliance requirements (in contracts, data confidentiality, User Consent, and Data additions/deletions). Bringing best-in-class experience for full stack benefits (ranging from health checks, doctor consultations, e-pharmacy, health coach, dental, vision, and vaccinations)

ekincare’s patented AI-based platform provides a one-stop corporate health benefits solution for employee health benefits. Its innovative approach enables policyholders to access the full range of wellness features and services in one location via the wellness portal and app. Apart from health rewards, some features include video/teleconsultation, pharmacy, and diagnostic services, online chat with doctors, doctor’s appointments, doctor on call, and a second opinion. All these services are handled digitally by the ekincare platform.

 

6) What firewall, endpoint security, or NAC integration does your product provide to block or contain the data breach and safeguard the client’s data?

We believe in a Layered security approach. Multiple systems are in place, ranging from Fortigate Firewall with token MFA to McAfee Antivirus systems to defend Data loss prevention software across different layers.
