Cashfree rolls out CovidCareProgram for employees including unlimited paid leave and wellness reimbursements

  • Employees can continue to work from home till the end of 2021
  • For the months of May and June, Fridays have been declared “No Meeting Fridays”

Leading digital payments and banking technology company, Cashfree, has announced a host of initiatives to help employees with Covid-19 care including unlimited leaves for its employees who contract the virus. Under this policy, any employee suffering from Covid-19 can avail of unlimited paid leaves until they are ready to resume work. The company has also announced unlimited paid leaves for Covid-19 family care. Cashfree employees can avail these leaves if their family members have been afflicted by Covid-19 and need care.

In the event that employees or their immediate family members test positive for Covid-19, Cashfree offers an advance in salary for incidental expenses, in addition to the group medical insurance cover. Going a step further, in addition to covering the costs of Covid-19 diagnosis test, expenses incurred by employees during home quarantine and hospitalization for themselves and their family will be reimbursed by Cashfree up to ₹25,000. This can be used for tests, consultations with doctors, dieticians, psychologists as well as for physical and mental wellness coaches. Cashfree has also pledged to cover vaccination expenses for employees and their dependents.

As an extension of support to the company’s workforce, all Cashfree’s employees also have the option of working from home till the end of the calendar year. For the months of May and June, Fridays have been declared “No Meeting Fridays” to help employees cope with the fatigue of regular virtual meetings. The company has also partnered with a health and wellness platform for mental health therapy for employees.

Cashfree has made arrangements to procure oxygen concentrators on priority for the use of employees and their family members who have contracted Covid-19. The company has also pledged to support Mission Oxygen, a campaign initiated by Democracy People Foundation, to help hospitals across India get access to oxygen concentrators. In association with online crowdfunding platform Ketto, the fintech leader is  contributing ₹1 for every ₹1 received as a donation on the platform, up to a total of ₹40 lakhs, for oxygen concentrators. Cashfree is the exclusive payment gateway used to accept donations by Ketto during this campaign.

Earlier through ‘Payment Links for Donations’, organizations raising funds will be able to accept donations digitally via 100+ payment modes including net banking, UPI, cards, Paytm etc. Organisations without a website can raise funds by sharing links over WhatsApp, SMS, email and other social media platforms. A dedicated team has been set up to help organizations raising donations for Covid-19 relief activities to set up their account and start collecting donations within 12 hours.
