Chennai witnesses Tamil Nadu ‘s largest entrepreneurial gathering with the 15th Edition of TiECON Chennai 2022
~The two-day affair on 7th and 8th October witnessed a myriad of 1000+ entrepreneurs debating, discussing, and deliberating the idea of resilience~
Anchored around the theme of “Resilience Unlimited”, the city witnessed the 15th edition of TiE Chennai’s flagship event- TiECON Chennai 2022. Held at IIT Madras’s Research Park, the two-day event starting 7th October 2022, beheld aspiring, and established entrepreneurs from all walks of life, under a single roof. With the motif of embracing and nurturing the spirit of resilience in entrepreneurship, TiECON Chennai 2022 delved deep into the changing entrepreneurial ecosystem brought by the pandemic and its after-effects. Furthermore, the grand event also marked the return of TiE Sandhai, a marketplace for entrepreneurs to network, in an in-person format.
The grand event commenced with a multitude of workshops on topics like- Secrets of Digital Disruptors, Reporting, and Governance for Startups, Holistic Business Design, and Thozhlil Thitamum, among several others, on 7th October, Friday. This was further followed by an Award Nite that appreciated and honoured the stalwarts of the industry. On the other hand, Sunday, 8th October perceived a variety of sessions and panel discussions with entrepreneurs sharing insights on how the pandemic impeded the entrepreneurial ecosystem and their journey in overcoming the challenges it brought with it. Moreover, the day also celebrated the most promising start-up ideas at the finale of TiE Chennai’s PitchFest.
The plethora of informative and exciting sessions witnessed distinguished personalities, including- Lieutenant General Arun, Commanding Officer in the Indian Army- Dakshin Bharat area, Mr Sridhar Vembu, Founder and CEO of Zoho Corporation, Mr M M Murugappan, Chairman – Carborundum Universal Ltd, Mr CK Ranganathan, Chairman and Managing Director – CavinKare Pvt Ltd, Mr Rajiv Ramanan, Co-founder – Spendflo, Mr Joseph Abraham, Founder and CEO – SaaS Industry, Mr Anirudh Sharma, Founder and CEO – Diganthara, and Mr Sanjay Nekkanti, Founder and CEO – Dhruva Space, Ms Mridula Ramesh, Founder, Sundaram Climate Institute, to name a few.
Sharing insights on Building a value-driven Enterprise, Mr. Sridhar Vembu, Founder and CEO of Zoho Corporation elaborated that organizational culture formulates the root of values for any business-driven enterprise, which also paves the way to execute a successful business strategy. He further addressed the need for organizations to imbibe the human element rather than only focusing on creating a work product professional out of an employee.
Furthermore, conversing with Mr CK Ranganathan Chairman and Managing Director – CavinKare Pvt Ltd, on the topic Passionate Pathfinders, Mr M M Murugappan, Chairman – Carborundum Universal Ltd, shared his journey of climbing the ladder of success and the importance of fostering positive upbringing, especially with entrepreneurs who have to uphold entrepreneurial legacies. The session titled Climate Conversations further saw Ms Mridula Ramesh, Founder, Sundaram Climate Institute shedding light with Mahalingam K , Partner/ Director, TSM Group of companies; on the alarming effects of climate change and the role of organizations in encouraging resilience and the power they hold in speeding up the process.
