Jidoka Technologies announces the appointment of Auto industry veteran, Shyam Kumar as Director of Sales and Marketing

Jidoka Technologies, the leader in automated cognitive inspection for the manufacturing industry, today announced the appointment of Shyam Kumar R as the organization’s Director of Sales and Marketing. Shyam is an auto industry veteran with over three decades of experience and has held multiple leadership positions with leading auto manufacturers across India.

He joins Jidoka after having served as the Business Head Sales & Mktg at KINTO India which is Toyota Global New Mobility Division and National Head – Institutional Sales at the Toyota Kirloskar Motor where he served for almost 12 years.  In his current role at Jidoka, Shyam will lead the organization’s sales & marketing initiatives, as it enters the next phase of growth with expansion into other verticals and regions across India and internationally.  He would be spearheading the sales & marketing team and be responsible for developing and implementing the sales & marketing strategy for all product categories across verticals, brand positioning, and driving customer experience programs.

Jidoka solutions deliver complete automation of visual inspection – a process that is usually highly subjective. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies, these QC solutions automate the process of visual quality while increasing consistency and accuracy at high speed.  These include deep learning algorithms, advanced image augmentation techniques, and edge computing for high-speed decision-making on complex problems. Jidoka’s software improves the defect detection rate by 10% to 15% while also bringing down the false positives by as much as 30% to 40%. The ability to perform inspection in real-time by eliminating inspection as a bottleneck in the supply chain is also an added advantage.

Prior to Toyota Kirloskar, Shyam had served Piaggio, Hyundai Motors, and Hindustan Motors in leadership roles across Sales and Marketing.
