Press Release

Managed mobility to thrive in APAC over next four years, says GlobalData

GlobalData

Technological advancements in the connectivity solutions continue to eliminate accessibility barriers between individuals and enterprises within a broader existing digital ecosystem. The influx of connected devices has resulted in increased complexities for enterprises to manage devices connected to their network. As a result, managed mobility is expected be a major revenue driver for the overall enterprise mobility revenue in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, says GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company

GlobalData’s Market Opportunity Forecasts Model forecasts managed mobility services to account for one-third (equivalent to US$5.3bn) of the overall enterprise mobility revenue in APAC by 2023. The need to manage applications and the enforcement of security policies will result in the strong growth in mobile application platform management (CAGR of 27.1%) during the review period 2018-2023.

Sunil Kumar Verma, Lead ICT Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “Companies are increasingly adopting a mix and match of mobility offerings to improvise customer services, enhance marketing effectiveness, boost brand recognition and provide a digital communication medium for client interaction.”

A large Internet connected user base in the region (predominantly in China and India) will facilitate the domination of managed mobility services revenue to the overall mobility revenue during the forecast period. Focus by enterprises on conceptualizing the future workspace will drive the mobile content management and mobile device management spending during the period.

With the advent of 5G technology, the telcos too aspire to expand beyond their traditional telecom business offerings in order to offer collaboration and mobile workforce capabilities to the enterprises. As a result, telecom expense management will also become a critical aspect, as geographic coverage and bandwidth capacity becomes a key consideration factor for both the participating entities.

Sunil concludes: “The number of enterprises embarking on enterprise mobility continues to grow. This in-turn will require significant capability enhancements to enable them deliver a broader set of their pre-defined digital initiatives and meet enterprise level regulatory requirements.”
