The Dynamic Lead Singer Of ‘Sufistication’, Aabha Hanjura, Leaves The Audience Spellbound At Protium Amp’d!

  • Sufi folk singer Abha performed a total of 16 songs at the Protium Amp’d event in Bengaluru, backed by two additional musicians.

Aabha Hanjura, a Sufi folk singer and songwriter and the energetic frontwoman of a folk-pop band, Sufistication, enthrals audiences at the Protium Amp’d event in Bangalore with an eclectic performance of 16 songs in Hindi, Kashmiri, Punjabi, and Urdu, including 11 original compositions. She was accompanied by two other musicians.

 

Aabha has gained recognition for her one-of-a-kind fusion music style that incorporates forgotten Kashmiri accents and folk instruments. Her Punjabi Folk Pop and Sufi Live Project, Sufistication, have graced the stages of major music festivals, including Coke Studio, JLF, Kutch Folk Festival (LLDC), Bollywood Music Project (Mumbai), IIFA, Rekhta, Punjabi Music Festival, and Crossblade. Her exceptional musical talent is also featured in the Oscar-nominated film “No Fathers in Kashmir,” directed by Ashwin Kumar. With her ability to sing in various languages such as Punjabi, Urdu, Kashmiri, and Dogri, Aabha is a highly-regarded live performer and songwriter, known for her lively and vibrant performances.

 

At Protium Amp’d the air was immediately transformed as Aabha’s soulful voice filled the room with her unique interpretation of Kashmiri folk music. The audience was drawn to the performance, with many gathering around the stage to witness the magic in person. Hanjura also earned the employees’ standing ovation, expressing their appreciation for the beautiful music and the cultural experience that the artist had brought to the workplace.

Since its inaugural event in October 2022, the Protium Amp’d concert series has become a highly coveted platform for Indian indie musicians. The first performance featured Raghu Dixit, the internationally acclaimed indie band leader of The Raghu Dixit Project. Many popular singers and songwriters have since graced the stage, including Bawari Basanti (Mahima Dayal Mathur), Vasuda Sharma, Vibha Saraf, Mary Ann Alexander, Frizzell D’Souza, and Jayant Sankla, among others.
