Secure your device with Dynamic Lock on Windows 11

windows 11

Guilty of leaving your desk without locking your device? Dynamic Lock has got you covered.

A Windows 11 feature, it automatically locks your computer when a connected Bluetooth device (your phone or wearable device) is out of range. When you walk away from your PC, and your Dynamic Lock device is out of range, your PC will automatically lock after 30 seconds.

Here’s how you can use Dynamic Lock on Windows 11 to ensure your device and information is always secure:

  1. Use Bluetooth to pair your phone with your PC.

  1. On your Windows 11 PC, select Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.

  1. Select Dynamic lock, then select the Allow Windows to automatically lock your device when you’re away check box.

  1. Take your phone with you when you move away from your PC, and it will automatically lock 30 seconds after you’re out of Bluetooth range. (Note that Bluetooth range varies by devices)

So, if you, like several others, walk away from your PC without using the Windows key + L feature to lock your screen, it’s time to let Windows 11 Dynamic Lock automatically step in for you.
