The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) has established one more Digital Collaborative Opportunities Plaza (SIDCOP) platform in China in an effort to provide market access to Indian IT firms in the huge Chinese market, the NASSCOM said. India launched its second “information technology corridor” in China on Sunday to cash in on the burgeoning Chinese software market, which remained elusive despite the presence of top Indian tech firms in the large Asian nation. India’s first IT corridor in China was launched in the Chinese port city of Dalian last December, with a focus on Internet of Things or IOT.
The launch of the event happened by China’s Guiyang Municipal government, the launch decided agreements worth RMB 36 million which was signed between Indian service providers and Chinese customers.
The NASSCOM made its entry with SIDCOP platform in the city of Dalian, which is India’s first IT hub in China, the happening of which happened last December.
India expects that the gateway for the Indian IT-small and medium-sized enterprises will be provided by china, hence top Indian IT firms have made their mark in china, especially at the multi-nationals and IT Corridor at Dalian. The Dalian IT corridor was formally launched few days ago.
While Dalian corridor’s focus was on IOT (Internet of Things), the Guiyang corridor will focus on Big Data, Sabharwal, Senior Director, Global Trade Development NASSCOM, told.
Speaking at the launch of the Guiyang IT corridor, India’s Ambassador to China Gautam Bambawale said the corridor which visualises collaboration between member companies of the NASSCOM and the Guiyang city authorities is aimed at setting up local offices and assisting companies from Guiyang to establish software and IT units in India. Informal Summit that took place last month between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping, shows that India-China relations are progressing well, particularly after the Informal Summit which can result in a big win for India and the IT firms.
The aim of the informal summit was to have an open ended discussion in good faith with each other aimed at enhancing strategic communication between them. The meeting lasted for a period of 10 hours between the Indian and Chinese leader at Wuhan and discussed their goals and objectives for their countries, how they viewed the fast-changing international situation and in this context how they would like to see India-China bilateral ties developing over the coming months. This gives india and edge towards developing a good environment for the indian market in which India-China business and commercial ties can expand rapidly.
In the last 1,600 years, the economies of India and China have contributed about 50 per cent of the global economy,” PM Modi had said during the informal summit. President Xi stressed that “a good China-India relationship is an important and positive factor for maintaining peace and stability in the world”. PM Modi had also proposed a five point agenda for bilateral ties – common vision, better communication, strong relationship, shared thought process and a shared resolve.
