What Makes SAP, Aspire, Elara ‘Great Place To Work’

Retaining talent has always been a top priority for enterprises. Several studies note that high performers are known to be relentless in their pursuit of challenging job profiles and compensation alone is no longer a big motivator. So, what makes an organization a great place to work?

Employees want to ensure that a company will give them opportunities to grow in their job and also provide an environment that is fair and inclusive, according to Great Place to Work that has identified the Best Workplaces of this year as part of its annual survey. It is interesting to note that a number of technology companies, especially those that are strengthening their workplace culture are featured in their ‘Workplace Recognition’ category. In India, more than 900 organizations applied this to undertake the assessment and a number of them have been shortlisted.

SAP SE today announced that SAP Labs India is #1 in the list of India’s Best Companies to Work for 2019. The survey, conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute, marks the second consecutive year that SAP Labs India has nabbed the top spot by standing out for its inclusive culture that empowers continuous learning.

Dilipkumar Khandelwal, MD, SAP Labs India said, “We are thrilled to be ranked #1 by Great Place to Work for two years in a row. At SAP, we have made considerable investments to create a culture in which innovation, learning, and intrepreneurship is encouraged and rewarded.”

Employees of SAP Labs India work in an environment which is non-hierarchical, fluid and flexible. The company has several best-in-class employee initiatives. These include peer-to-peer learning platforms, supporting women in different phases of their career and encouraging employees to consider entrepreneurship. SAP Labs India has also won several awards for its best-in-class diversity programs such as Autism at Work.

Another firm, Ingersoll Rand, known for creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments has  been named one of the top 100 companies in the country based on a rigorous assessment conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute. Ingersoll Rand has earned this recognition for creating a Great Place to Work for All employees and for excelling on the five dimensions of building a High-Trust, High-Performance Culture — Fairness, Credibility, Respect, Pride and Camaraderie.

Elara Technologies Pte Ltd., owner of Housing.com, PropTiger.com, Makaan.com, has been ranked 34th in the annual ranking, while To The New has been ranked 47th in the country.

As a company, Elara’s initiatives centered around its employees, including global best practices, extensive training modules and employee benefits along with a commitment towards work-life balance contributed significantly to the company’s strong performance on the list.

TO THE NEW has been honored for the third consecutive time after being assessed amongst over 900 companies from across India. The ranking are clear evidence that people no longer work for run of the mill benefits. Companies will have to pull up their socks and chart customized programs for employees if want to create and sustain themselves as people-centric workplaces.
