BetterPlace: Revolutionizing Workforce Management with AI-Optimized SaaS

CXOToday has engaged in an exclusive interview with Ved Antani, Chief Product and Technology Officer, BetterPlace

  1. Overview of Betterplace

BetterPlace is the world’s first AI-optimized horizontal workforce management SaaS platform designed specifically for frontline workers. With a staggering user base of over 30 million workers spanning across 1100 businesses, BetterPlace provides comprehensive solutions that cater to the entire value chain of workforce management. Its unique horizontal approach offers a unified platform comprising nine modules, each as robust as any other vertical SaaS offering. This consolidated solution empowers businesses to streamline and optimize their workforce management processes efficiently.

  1. What role does BetterPlace’s flexible architecture play in creating a seamless experience for both enterprises and frontline workers?

BetterPlace’s flexible architecture plays a pivotal role in creating a seamless experience for both enterprises and frontline workers. This flexibility is built on three key pillars: integration, customization, and configurability, which empower enterprises to tailor BetterPlace offerings to their unique needs.

Firstly, BetterPlace provides standard REST APIs, ensuring smooth integration with a wide range of systems. Whether it’s ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Ramco, third-party HRMS modules such as SAP SuccessFactors, biometric hardware devices, analytics tools like PowerBI, or data lakes/warehouses, BetterPlace seamlessly integrates with these systems. This allows enterprises to consolidate data and leverage their existing infrastructure investments effectively.

Secondly, BetterPlace’s flexible architecture includes a no-code/low-code workflow builder based on BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation). This empowers enterprises to create custom workflows tailored to their specific requirements without the need for heavy technical teams. This approach significantly enhances efficiency and streamlines workforce management processes, making it easy for enterprises to implement workflows or make feature-level customizations.

  1. Can you provide examples of how BetterPlace’s flexible architecture enables customized data analysis and reporting for enterprises?

BetterPlace is the only full stack Human Capital SaaS platform specifically designed to give you transparency over your end-to-end frontline workforce. This is possible because we have been very thoughtful in making data the key part of the entire platform. With Betterplace it is possible to have very rich reports and dashboards to generate insights across your entire business – for example, vendor compliance reports across 100+ parameters, consolidated attendance and shift reports, complete payroll cycle reports and compliance documents – all are at your fingertips. Additionally, you are free to customize your dashboards as per the business requirements. We see our customers build rich dashboards across their thousands of vendors spread across hundreds of sites across India. The data architecture also allows you to plug your own data analytics tools – like, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, to name a few

  1. How has BetterPlace been able to integrate a wide array of offerings into its integrated tech stack?

BetterPlace has successfully integrated a diverse range of offerings into its integrated tech stack by leveraging its comprehensive suite of solutions. This suite includes hiring, onboarding, payroll, gig workforces, fintech, and more, catering to the specific needs of enterprises across various industries. By providing a one-stop, integrated platform, BetterPlace effectively streamlines workforce management processes, enhances operational efficiency, and ultimately drives business success. While the platform provides rich capabilities – the biggest strength of this platform is the ability to customize any complex workflows using a no-code/low-code tool within the platform itself. The possibilities are endless with this combination.

  1. How is BetterPlace planning to bring AI into all of its offerings?

BetterPlace has a strategic plan to incorporate AI across all of its offerings, aiming to enhance optimization and scalability through AI automation. The introduction of generative AI and GPT models within our modules plays a crucial role in achieving this goal.

In the verification & onboarding module, AI is leveraged to automate and expedite the verification process, ensuring swift and accurate onboarding of frontline workers. By utilizing AI algorithms, BetterPlace streamlines the verification workflow, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.

AI integration is also prominent in the performance management module. Through advanced analytics and machine learning algorithms, BetterPlace enables automated performance tracking and analysis. AI-powered insights provide valuable feedback on productivity, efficiency, and areas of improvement for both workers and enterprises.

BetterPlace plans to leverage AI in its offerings, not only for cost savings but also for revenue generation. An excellent example of this is the hiring process. Traditionally, recruiters would manually call candidates and assess their skills. However, with the integration of generative AI and AI assessment models, the efficiency of the hiring process significantly improves. While a recruiter may be able to screen around 50 candidates in a day, AI can easily screen 1,000 to 2,000 candidates in the same timeframe. This expanded screening capacity enables a much larger offer funnel, increasing the number of potential hires and ultimately generating more revenue for BetterPlace.
