CoSoSys focuses more on the Indian market

Data is leaking out of our organisations faster than we realise, whether through malicious or unintentional means. The recent rapid shift to remote work has created an even greater opportunity for data leakage. Data can be accessed, downloaded, and shared more easily than ever before outside of an organization’s secure perimeter. It comes as no surprise that data loss prevention (DLP) techniques are becoming an important part of an organization’s security strategy in order to ensure sensitive information remains safe wherever it goes.

CoSoSys, based in Romania, is on the verge of the DLP revolution and protects over 11.5 million users worldwide. With over 130 partners in over 90 countries, the DLP provider sees a lot of growth potential in the India market.

Filip Cotfas, Channel Manager at CoSoSys, explains why fusion work makes DLP a critical practice in the near future without compromising data security or privacy, and outlines the company’s recent plans for the India market.

  1. What is the current international DLP market, and what factors are driving these advanced technologies?

Over the past years, there has been a big increase in security awareness. Many companies decided to implement a Data Loss Prevention solution either proactively, or because they had a security incident recently. Companies need to use a Data Loss Prevention solution as part of their compliance as well. (BFSI, Pharma, Healthcare, IT, etc.)

2. What impact have Covid-19 and WFH had on the data security landscape? What kinds of security issues do you see in India in particular?

While hybrid work is proving to be a positive step for many companies and employees in terms of productivity, data security took a hit in 2020 and 2021 due to the shift towards work from home. This is mostly a consequence of how organizations have developed their cybersecurity and data protection policies until now.

Due to the constant digital and data growth, it is essential for companies to be equipped with the necessary resources and to provide efficient cybersecurity and data privacy. Besides the risk of a data breach that causes both financial and reputational loss, growing compliance requirements and the loss of competitive advantage are essential factors to consider.

The awareness of Data Loss Prevention and data security has increased a lot in the past two years due to the pandemic. We have strengthened our Channel Partner Program in India, through which we’ve tried to establish an understanding of why the Data Loss Prevention solutions are business-relevant and should be in priority.

3. How do you ensure CoSoSys stands out as a brand and differentiates itself from the competition in the crowded security market?

Endpoint Protector by CoSoSys is a cross-platform solution that offers feature parity between Windows, macOS and Linux computers. The solution provides diverse implementation options, coming as a Virtual Appliance, compatible with the most popular virtualization tools, and an Instance on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.

Our DLP solution has a lightweight agent, offers a user-friendly interface, granular policy management, carefree installation, and can work offline.

4. Could perhaps you tell us about the company’s expansion plans for the Indian market over the next 12 months?

Through the help of our Channel Partners, we are covering Tier II and Tier III as well, and we are also focusing on Awareness, and Educational content focused on the Tier II and III cities, with the help of local media.

5.Please describe your channel partner education programs for your advanced solutions.
