3: What is the involvement of AI in automotive industry?

A vehicle is no longer just a medium to transport people and goods from one place to another, but is now evolving into an IoT device on wheels. The future will see autonomous cars, which will rely on powerful computer systems, an array of sensors, networking, and satellite navigation, all connected with each other, and together being a part of the IoT, all of which will require heavy electronics.


4: What role does the digital twin play in the advancement of IoT technology?

IoT and Digital Twin are two concepts that are intertwined. With the advancement of the Internet of Things, the digital twin process can now enable testing, analysis and predictions based on real-world scenarios rather than a set of assumptions, whereby the results of these tests will be accurate, saving time and money. The amount of data generated in digital twin methodology is enormous, and IoT has to keep up with the volume of data and analysis needed. On the other hand, Digital twin is crucial to the development of IoT, as IoT has to re-evolve to meet the rapidly growing standard of the Digital twin based on its accuracy, data capacities and sensing capabilities


5: As we are now in the post-pandemic phase, what are some tech solutions that can help India Inc?

3 of the main challenges that we see post the pandemic will be 1) Recovering the time lost in the planned Product Development, 2) Reduced Budgetary constraints, and 3) The continuing of remote operations. Below are some of the solutions that DEP has to help address these in the CAE departments. Companies will be clamoring to get their products to market faster, and this will mean lesser time to design and engineer their products. DEP MeshWorks and Analysis could help reduce the cost and time of design and engineering by utilizing existing designs, and previous models, which can morphed to new concepts rapidly, on which virtual analysis can be performed. This will save time as compared to the conventional process relying on start from scratch and doing more physical validation.

There is a slow process of ramping up staff at the worksite, and there will be a challenge to train the people virtually and share the model and work package, when the team members are split virtually. DEP’s process automation on CAE workflows would enable customers to run their CAE operations with push of a button without having to invest in heavy training, or worrying the splitting the work package virtually between the various team members. Process automation is a tailor-fit design management application that combines various engineering concepts and helps designers with quick solutions that are easy to implement during the early stages of product development.
