Hitachi Vantara’s Visionary and Impactful Partnerships Co-Create Value and Drive Sustainability

CXOToday has engaged in an interview with KC Phua, Senior Director, Partner Programs & Solutions, Partners & Alliances, Hitachi Vantara Asia Pacific (APAC) & Darsshan Somaiya, Partner Sales Organization, Hitachi Vantara

  1. What are the specific challenges that businesses often face when managing hybrid environments, especially concerning data complexities, security concerns, and scalability issues?

Most businesses today operate within hybrid and multi-cloud environments, each with its own set of advantages and disadvantages. Behind these hybrid cloud environments, whether private or public, lies a physical infrastructure. These physical infrastructures can vary in terms of their setup and size.

Data is the centerpiece of most organizations. The data that resides in this environment might need to be moved between different applications and servers and across different networks. Managing the data and securing the data across the environment and across the network becomes a challenge. The data that used to be centralized is now exposed to a larger environment. Cost of moving data, dealing with latency differences, data redundancy to facilitate availability of data, protecting a larger “footprint” of data are common challenges.

  1. How does Hitachi Vantara partnership address these challenges effectively?

To achieve the best outcomes for our customers, Hitachi Vantara collaborates with a broad ecosystem of partners. For instance, our partnership with VMware enables us to seamlessly deploy and manage application workloads across hybrid cloud environments. Additionally, we work with various data protection partners to ensure data protection and availability, both on-premises and in the cloud.

  1. What are the various partnership models offered? What benefits do these partnership models bring to businesses looking to enhance their hybrid cloud management?

At Hitachi Vantara, partnerships are core to our DNA. They play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge data and hybrid cloud solutions, services, and expertise that our customers require to accelerate their data-driven innovations. Through our partner ecosystem, we collaborate to streamline, automate, and optimize operations, leading to improved business outcomes. These partnerships bring value by providing our customers with best-of-breed solutions and enhancing the integration of their own solutions.

  1. Insights into the energy-efficient solutions offered by Hitachi Vantara partnership, and how they align with global expansion goals?

At Hitachi Vantara, we are dedicated to achieving ambitious sustainability objectives. Our commitment to building energy-efficient solutions begins with the development of sustainable storage solutions and extends to data optimization.

For sustainable storage solutions, we take pride in being the only storage vendor certified by Carbon Footprint for Products. Our approach involves adhering to rigorous internal protocols for designing and developing infrastructure solutions that consume less energy and emit fewer carbon emissions with each new iteration.

For data optimization, we streamline data fabric, eliminating redundant and obsolete data, regardless of its location. Our solutions empower our customers to discover and classify data, enhancing data analytics speed, reducing risk and costs, and improving resource utilization.

Our eco-friendly infrastructure, which consumes less energy, leverages hybrid cloud strategically, and employs more efficient facilities management, among other measures, paves the way for enterprises to embrace a more sustainable future.

This is where Hitachi Vantara and our trusted partner ecosystem come into play. Our distribution and channel partners have embraced sustainability and have been instrumental in assisting our joint customers in assessing and addressing their sustainability goals and opportunities with increasing success over the past several years. In this regard, we are continually advancing our joint solutions and practices, and we keep our partner tools and services updated with the latest sustainability innovations. We are equipping our collaborators to help businesses identify opportunities, set targets, and execute with greater speed and consistency.

  1. How these solutions contribute to both environmental sustainability and business growth?

Our innovative partners not only share our commitment to sustainability but also contribute their own solutions to help customers move in the right direction. For instance, partners such as Atos, Cisco, VMware, and Equinix have made remarkable strides in developing eco-friendly data center innovations.

In the Everest Group’s inaugural Sustainability Enablement Technology Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2022, Hitachi Vantara has been ranked as a ‘Major Contender’ for Sustainability Enablement Technology Services. While this recognition is significant, those deeply involved in enterprises and sustainability understand that sustainability is an ongoing journey. However, when approached correctly, sustainability becomes contagious. Once enterprises can demonstrate positive data center outcomes, including energy and cost savings and improved performance, we’ve witnessed other parts of the business enthusiastically adopting similar measures.

  1. What tangible results or impacts have businesses experienced as a result of the partnership?

To effectively measure and communicate the collective impact of the partner ecosystem’s sustainability efforts, it is crucial to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for tracking progress. This enables us to share success stories and impact reports that can inspire others and demonstrate the value of collaboration in achieving sustainability goals. It’s important to note that saving the planet also yields significant dividends.

  1. What is the long-term vision for this partnership strategy?

The long-term vision for our partnership strategy is to harness diverse expertise, technologies, and perspectives to co-create innovative solutions that address environmental challenges. Through these partnerships, we empower forward-thinking enterprises to develop sustainable solutions, optimizing resource utilization, minimizing waste, and reducing carbon emissions. This not only benefits our partners’ customers but also consistently delivers a strong return on investment (ROI). Our partnership models, based on three pillars trust, predictability, and sustainability, are essential for driving business growth.

  1. What are the key elements of the ‘Run to Win’ campaign? specific advantages that this campaign offer to partners and customers alike?

The ‘Run to Win’ partner campaign encompasses the elements that partners seek today, including providing great customer offers, incentives, and assistance in generating awareness and demand in the market. Run to Win is all about achieving victory together with our partners and collaborating to help customers refresh, upgrade, and create new data infrastructure solutions. The ‘RUN’ in the campaign encapsulates the ‘refresh,’ ‘upgrade,’ and ‘new’ intentions of the campaign.
