How MyDigiRecords is Revolutionising the Future of Healthcare

CXOToday has engaged in exclusive interview with Dr Saroj Gupta, CEO & Founder, MyDigiRecords

1) How can MyDigiRecords assist users in managing their medical records?

MyDigiRecords offers a unified, user-friendly platform allowing individuals to efficiently access their medical records. This all-encompassing platform not only provides a centralized location for health records, including immunization history, prescription medications, and test results but also facilitates users in registering their ABHA number. By doing so, they can seamlessly integrate their health data across the entire Indian healthcare framework. MyDigiRecords also introduces features such as automated reminders for recommended immunizations and medication schedules. Its intuitive design ensures that users, regardless of their technical proficiency, can effortlessly navigate and oversee their health documentation.

Adopting a centralized approach through MyDigiRecords encourages a holistic, streamlined, and patient-centric healthcare experience. This, in turn, promotes superior health outcomes and improved interactions for both patients and healthcare providers. With direct access to their comprehensive medical history, patients gain enhanced clarity and command over their health. Additionally, this centralization aids in pinpointing and rectifying any inconsistencies or inaccuracies in a patient’s health data, ensuring its reliability and currency. A consolidated record repository enables healthcare professionals to promptly review a patient’s extensive medical history. This expedites precise diagnoses and interventions. Moreover, as telemedicine gains traction, the indispensability of centralized health records escalates, ensuring that distant medical professionals are well-equipped with vital data for effective patient care.

  1. MyDigiRecords has got the Ayushman Bharat certification from the National Health Authority of India, what are the factors that lead to this certification?

The Ayushman Bharat certification is a testament to MyDigiRecords’ commitment to quality, security, and user-centricity. Factors leading to this certification include our robust data security protocols, adherence to interoperability standards set by the National Health Authority, and a user interface that aligns with the guidelines of Ayushman Bharat. Our consistent performance, real-time data synchronization capabilities, and patient-first approach further solidified our position as a platform worthy of this recognition.

  1. Please highlight any noteworthy technological advancements of the platform, that can revolutionise this space of the way people keep their medical records

One of the noteworthy technological advancements of MyDigiRecords is our AI-driven drug-drug interaction feature. If a user is prescribed medications that have the potential to cause negative interactions, the app will notify the user so they can talk to their doctor or pharmacist before proceeding with the medication(s). in addition to prescription medications, the system will also allow the user to track and receive notifications about over the counter medications as well.

Another advancement built in to the MyDigiRecords platform is the embedded Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology simplifies the process of uploading and digitizing paper records, ensuring a seamless transition for users from paper to digital. This is especially useful to help the Indian healthcare market transform to digital health records from traditional paper-based records.

  1. How can digital records empower consumers to make better, more informed healthcare decisions?

Digital records are pivotal in empowering healthcare consumers to make more informed healthcare decisions, hinging on three pillars:

  1. Access to Health Records: At the heart of informed decision-making lies the ability to access comprehensive health information. Digital records grant users centralized access to their medical histories, immunization timelines, medication logs, and more. This foundational step paves the way for informed healthcare decisions.
  2. Health Literacy and Education: Beyond mere access, understanding the contents of these records is crucial. For consumers to derive value from their health records, they must grasp the implications of the information they hold. This emphasizes the importance of health literacy and education.
  3. Proactive Health Management: This extends the idea of understanding to actionable insights. With this, users not only comprehend their health data but also learn how to take proactive measures to enhance their well-being.

To contextualize, consider a user with prediabetes. They should be able to access records indicating elevated blood sugar levels, albeit below type 2 diabetes thresholds. Additionally, they may find familial diabetes histories and personal weight concerns. With an understanding of their blood sugar metrics, they can then discern factors elevating their levels. By introducing proactive health management, strategies to regulate blood sugar and mitigate type 2 diabetes risks become accessible. In essence, such informed engagement fosters personalized medical guidance, timely interventions, and a healthcare journey curated to meet individual specificities.

  1. How can people better comprehend health risks with the help of digital records?

Digital records offer a consolidated view of one’s health history. By analyzing patterns, identifying anomalies, and tracking vital statistics over time, users can gain insights into potential health risks. Having a comprehensive view at users’ fingertips, with platforms like MyDigiRecords, allows users to obtain a real time view of health risks like missed immunizations that could put the user at risk for contracting a vaccine-preventable disease. Having access to digital health records gives users information to make better healthcare decisions.

  1. Is it possible to detect diseases early if one has complete control over their digital health records?

Absolutely. When individuals have complete control over their digital health records, they are in a position to actively monitor and understand their health metrics. Regular updates and the ability to spot irregular patterns enable early detection of potential health issues. This proactive approach, combined with timely consultations, can lead to early disease detection, facilitating treatments that are often more effective and less invasive.
